I got the SDD back from RMA and updated it fully. It works 100%. Guess it just needed that RMA. Fixed!

Ok, after messing with bios settings and swapping ports, I got it to install and boot Vista. What's next?

If it helps, the drive isn't listed in the bios boot choices. But my bare bones dive and my bluray drive are.

I grabbed a different drive (not a ssd) and tried installing Vista. It got to expanding files before the installer got error 0x80070017. Um...

[SOLVED] Windows Update KB3161664 causes BSOD

Bad news. I checked the firmware, it's up to date. I tried to run seatools, but it couldn't find any of my hard drives. Huh. Rebooted, now it's stuck in the same BSOD loop again. And the dism command isn't fixing it! The Windows disk saw my hard drive fine. I'm on my phone posting now...

[SOLVED] WIN 7 SP1 x64 - SFC found corrupt files, couldn't fix

OK. I installed, one by one, every update, even a Silverlight update. All of them took, except aforementioned KB3161664. I installed it three times, and each time caused the BSOD cycle. None of the others had any problem. Interesting.

So far I've got KB3161561 to install fine, but then I tried to install KB3161664... I had to reboot the computer and restart the windows update service to get it to get past "Searching for updates on this computer", then it installed unusually fast, rebooted, BSOD. I don't know if it was the...
