That snip was just after restart. It took some time, but it now says successful. I've been struggling with this Windows Update issue since October and the December downloads and installations really wrecked a poor situation...but zcomputerwiz has prevailed, and I'm most grateful. Thank you...

The 4 important updates downloaded and successfully installed. I see KB3212646 is listed as "pending" in "view update history". Is that a concern or because it's January and just became available today?

Control Panel says it's already installed; also listed in "Installed Updates". Done 10/16/16 Version 5.1.50901.0. Download and attempt installation anyway? Silverlight has always been listed at Control Panel.

I followed your instructions in post #14; it only checked for updates a few minutes (15 at the most), and WU home is unchanged, except of course there's no history. "No important updates are available", there's 16 optional updates, and it says I only receive updates for Windows. Thanks.

Then may I ask what will show us where the problem is when I've received no updates via Windows Update since September - and - when I downloaded and installed Updates from the MS Catalog in December, the WU home was altered and no longer reflects that I should still be receiving updates for MS...

These are the only checkSUR logs in CBS folder and are dated 12/23/16. I'll download another SURT, let it run, and attach a more current checkSUR log. I'm assuming you want a current log.
