Fix ran fine. I restarted computer. Opened windows update first time and it still shows the failure from before. I closed windows update and opened it again and it checks for updates and now shows 1 important update (Windows Malicious software removal tool x64 - v5.83 KB890830) and 8 optional...

When I first went to Control Panel \ Windows Update it showed the same message as the below red message. I closed the window and went back into Windows update and it then said Checking for updates. Now it shows the green message below.
