my server is gmail. I have not used it directly much ( that is accessing it via the web instead of the client ) It is more powerful than I had thought and I am looking into using it more directly.

I somehow broke Windows Live Mail on a win 7 machine that I upgraded to Win 10. I uninstalled it using control panel, I then went to C:\users\name of user\appdata\local\microsoft\ and then deleted the directories windows live, windows live mail, and windows live movie maker just to be safe ...

Outlook express is before windows live essentials and maybe older than that. My comment had to do with the fact that he is still using it and it works. I will let you know later about Thunderbird. I like the idea of two email clients as a "just in case one breaks"

Thank you very much for your note. There were lots of reasons I liked windows live. One of the main reasons was that I knew how to use it---- which is pretty important. The search capability was very good ( If you google thunderbird search-- it is pretty good as well ), the email window pane was...

I am using windows live mail 2012. I upgraded to win 10 from win 7. All new emails after the upgrade show the message " Message could not be displayed" I don't know what to do. When I try to repair windows live I get error 0x800c006

Everything seems to be great. Now running 8.1 No violations in scannow I am putting this PC away until probably 4/25 and won't report back until then. You are the best.

before I could get windows update settings to be never, I had checked for updates. There are 180 important-- I will wait to install those. I finally figured out how to get to a run as admin command prompt and am doing a scan. I will send you a link to the cbs.log later

I was wrong about the result for safe mode, I am now at a screen for a windows install ---- that is country, etc should I continue and see where it leads? I don't think one of the F8 options was start-up repair, that may be on the DART64 disk or even the windows install disk. I will await...

here goes. I got a couple of restarts and then a blue screen saying it needs to be repaired. enter to try again f8 for startup options and esc for uefi all the normal start up options appear to be there. I took number 6 safe mode with command prompt. A message came up that could not start...
