No that seems to have fixed the sfc errors. Thank you so much for the help and assistance. Do have any ideas what may have caused the problem. Thanks again.

Ran Sfcfix after running sfc /scannow and finding corrupt files. Insert my Windows 7 pro DVD when instructed. This is the text file that was created. If there is another log file that you need please tell be where to locate it. SFCFix version 3.0.2.1 by niemiro. Start time: 2020-01-10...

So the update that you removed was causing the problem. How do I prevent the update from being installed again and do I need to have the update installed? Thanks so much for you help.

I tried the operation twice, both times I got the following error message Cannot export c:\software. Error writing the file. The maybe a disk or file system error. I tired to save it to c:\ once and then to my e:\ drive. Same error message. I took a long time to complete the operation and...
