It appears that you have one local account (the one that ends in 1) and a Micrsoft Account linked user account. Could you post a screen shot of Settings, Accounts, Family & Other Users Pane? This presumes that Microsoft Account linked account is the one you want as the main account and is what shows up in the Your Info Pane.

That is, did you use Shutdown and then power the machine up again, or did you use Restart? By the way, I cannot get that video to play. As soon as I hit the play button it goes to black screen.

Fix: Two Duplicate User Names Appear on Windows 10 Login Screen Click to expand... From the initial post: "I've tried the netplwiz technique, ticked and unticked the "Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer" option but not work for me." In addition, the two are not duplicates as usually seen. They have different account names (at least from what's been posted so far). It could be that they're the same underneath the hood, but a screen shot during the technique you suggest (the one shown in Method 2) would clear that up.

I have a similar thing (after Cumulative KB4532693) I only had one account before KB4532693. I'm not looking for help simply interjecting it's "a thing". I can log into both and they are separate accounts. Both are named Rob West. Both have PIN#s that are the same. Desktop is bare and brand new on the one I don't use, however Chrome is there and syncs without any input on my part. I just removed it from the Family and other Users screen without issue. It was under the Other Users section. After a reboot, it's still gone.

I have never, even once, seen an account deleted via this mechanism reappear. Once nuked, they've stayed nuked. Apparently we have a novel situation here, at least from my perspective. If actually deleting an account doesn't work, I have my doubts that anything short of a full "nuke and pave" (completely clean reinstall of Windows 10) is going to solve the issue.

If he/she has both accounts "online" even if seperate accounts, it will pull it from the cloud every time. Until it's deleted "online" it won't go away. I'm not saying that's what it is definitively but as a could be or for someone else facing a similar issue.

This is true, but my question is where it would have pulled a cloud-based account from, that is unrelated to the actual Microsoft Account linked Win10 User Account, from in the first place? Almost all of these circumstances show a local account with the same user name as the Microsoft Account linked one, but this one doesn't, which set off a red flag for me from the outset. It doesn't match the established pattern. Also, the screen shot in post #3 clearly shows "the problem account" as local, which means it should have absolutely no connection to any cloud-based account.

Through that "access given" (on the phone app perhaps) for convenience. I have seperate accounts I just do not choose to share access with each but it will ask if I add the Google account to my MS account. You are correct, it definitely isn't the established pattern.
