Hi -
Truly great news about the SeaTools results.
chkdsk may have come up to clean up security descriptors.
The desktop is Lenovo IdeaCentre K320
Configuration Number : 57121380
Running On Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit before upgrading to Windows 8 Pro 64 bit
Us this your system? -->
Drivers and software - IdeaCentre K320 Desktop
I only see drivers for Windows 7, Vista & XP; however, if you were to look at HP's page for my system, you would not find Windows 8 listed either. Windows Updates was smart enough to locate some compatible drivers; others I found on my own.
I went though basically the same scenario that you did several times - install Windows 8; KillDisk; reinstall Windows 8, etc... and ultimately was successful.
The worst case scenario here - You try again; things don't work out; you nuke the HDD again and end up with Windows 7. There is no way that you will damage the hardware in doing so.
If you are game & want to try for Windows 8 again, I and others are here to help.
After Windows 7 installation. upon reaching desktop, run the jcgriff2 BSOD file collection app so that we have complete information on your system configuration -
https://www.sysnative.com/forums/bs...g-instructions-windows-8-7-windows-vista.html
Then run the Windows 8 Upgrade Assistant -
Upgrade to Windows 8 - Microsoft Windows
We can then review the output to see if there are any devices flagged as definite non-Windows 8 contenders.
It is of course your call.
