I was previously in this thread https://www.sysnative.com/forums/wi...-x64-sfc-found-corrupt-files-couldnt-fix.html and it was suggested that I come here. The short story is, installing KB3161664 causes me to BSOD. It installs normally, I reboot, the STARTING WINDOWS screen animates the windows 7 logo, and then I get a BSOD c000021a Fatal Error that reboots my computer and just gets it stuck in a loop. The only thing that seems to fix this is popping in my windows 7 disk, going into Repair, and using the command Code: dism /image:C:\ /cleanup-image /revertpendingactions Code: Code: It causes the computer to fail the update, but at least it works. Initially I posted on the forum because SFCFix found corruption that it couldn't fix. I'm ready to do whatever is needed. · OS - Windows 7 Home Premiumx64 · I built the system myself to run Vista, upgraded it to Win 7 · The OS is full retail version (technically on an upgrade dvd) · Age of system (hardware): The important parts were bought around Nov 2013 · Age of OS installation - I haven't had to reinstall. · Laptop or Desktop? I tried to run seatools, but it couldn't find any of my hard drives. Huh. Rebooted, now it's stuck in the same BSOD loop again. And the dism command isn't fixing it! The Windows disk saw my hard drive fine. I'm on my phone posting now...
