Major Latency Issues

Sorry I did not respond I was at my graduation all day lol. I did what you said with no issues. Thank you so much for taking time out of your day to help me... Seriously this is such a horrible issue. Anyways, the drivers are installed. What is the next step from here?

So, do you still have issues after the driver was upgraded? If so, please generate a new XPERF trace, but make sure that you are experiencing audio glitches at that time.

Okay I will try my best. I am not sure if I still have latency issues at this point or not. Should I download LatencyMon or something to check?

Sorry but what do you mean by saying you are not sure if you have latency issues? You either have have audio glitches or not.

I didn't hear any audio glitches, but when I tried to open Steam while running several videos at the same time I got a BSOD.... I tried to run the xperf but it bsod'd before I could save the file.

I am listening to a bunch of music at once to try and get a reading of some kind. I will post the file in a minute and hopefully not BSOD.... Any ideas at this point? This is insane.

Okay. Still having audio issues. Skipping, popping, dropping out etc... I am uploading the xperf file now.... What the hell is wrong with my system... I don't understand how this can just all of a sudden happen :(

Do you still have audio issues if you disconnect your Astro MixAmp Pro?

LatencyMon keeps telling me that I need to disable CPU throttling settings in Control Panel and BIOS setup.... Also to check for bios updates but my bios is flashed with the newest version.... It is telling me there is a 2804 latency but I don't see ataport.sys at all now...

I am starting to think we are on the right track.... I don't see anything going insanely high in LatencyMon, but before ataport.sys was constantly going to 3k plus..... Now I just have to figure out what is going to 2804......

I tried installing Windows 8.1, and now I have a new latency issue called storport.sys........ Should I take my sound card out of my machine, or just bypass the mixamp? I tried unplugging the mixamp completely and I still had major latency issues in Latencymon.

Please remove LatencyMon and stop using as the basis. We are only curious whether you experience issues (audio, slowness, crashes) with your computer or not and, if so, we look into XPERF traces.

I think everything is fixed now. I didn't experience any drop outs at all last night while gaming. I am still noticing a bit of latency with my video card... which is odd because it is a work horse of a card.... I will stop using Latencymon. From what I read online it works well so I downloaded it.

I am only really getting the latency from ataport.SYS now.... I have read 20 different forums and nobody seems to have a real answer....

Yeah, Dissolution nailed out. How come everyone can recognize a driver or something else causing an error, like ataport.sys, but noone has a way to fix or repair it. If I figure something out to help someone else, I always post the solution....hmm, psongman
