    [10v1607b16299 x64] SFC Corruption Result

    Hi

Firstly thank you for offering this great service.

I have a windows surface pro (Latest) which I rebuilt from a surface factory image downloaded from Microsoft.

I set the PC up as personal use and then later added it to my work domain as I use it for both scenarios.

When I run the DISM restore health command it completes with no errors.

When I run SFC /Scannow it says there is file corruption. Examination of the log file shows that this is due to duplicate ownership

When I ran SFCfix it would not run stage one _ possible due to firewall at work.

    Many Thanks

    Ewan

    Hello and welcome

Due to the precise nature of your corruption, you will receive help from a user named SleepyDude. He's one of our senior trainees here who's in his final phase of his studies and needs to gain some real world experience in specific areas of Windows Update. This means that he'll be assisting you, but that I will first need to double check and approve his fixes before he posts them to you. If anything this is a good thing for you because it means that you've got at least two of us watching over your thread, but it will unfortunately add a slight delay between each reply. I hope that you understand and can accept the need for us to train up new members in this way in order to carry on doing what we do here, however, if for any reason you object to this setup, I will happily take on your thread myself.

Thank you very much for your understanding. We'll be with you very shortly.

Hi Ewan nice to meet you.

I need to see the full set of logs please execute this:

    Export the CBS folder

    1. Open the folder C:\Windows\Logs
    2. Right-click on the CBS folder, and select Copy
    3. Go back to your Desktop, right-click on it, and select Paste. You should now see a copy of the CBS folder appear on your Desktop called CBS
    4. Right-click on this new folder, and navigate through Send to, and select Compressed (zipped) folder
    5. A new file, also called CBS (CBS.zip), but this time with a different icon, will be created
If zip file is too large to upload to the forum please share the file using a service like Dropbox, Google Drive, etc. or upload to SendSpace and just provide the link for the file here

    Hi SleepyDude

I followed the instructions and ran SFCfix.exe which stopped the SFC /scannow errors, however the permissions issues are still present in the log its just SFC can fix them now albeit temporarily.

    Hi Ewan,

Please follow my instructions carefully I didn't ask to run SFCFix!

What I need is a copy of the CBS folder with all log files that are inside.

    Hi SleepDude

Ran it as administrator no log file on desktop.

Does it matter which user I am logged on as?

    Hi,

It seems SFCFix crashed! Can you check if there is a more recent SFCFix log inside c:\SFCFIX created when you executed the fix?

    Hi,

Besides posting the log requested above please try to boot Windows in Safe Mode and run the fix again in this mode to see if SFCFIX doesn't crash.
