BSOD Memory Management, sfc/scannow finding corrupt files

Hello. I first posted in the BSOD area, was then pointed to the Security Arena, and now here. My computer does run better after doing what was suggested in the latter but I still have sfc/scannow saying there are corrupted files. I ran sfcfix and it crashed. It asked if I wanted to send the crash inro to the developer and I said yes. It then appeared to start running and created a log. SFCFix.txt
I have retrieved the CBS file, put it in a zip file, and it was too large so I put in OneDrive. https://1drv.ms/u/s!ArzQDdvlHVBXgxVkvxhWuxCOXzFy

Re: BSOD Memory Management, sfc/scannow finding corrupt files

Is there anyone that can help me with this? The computer has been running well except for the tendency to hang up when first going online. But I think that's the provider. It seems to start and shut down fine. I'm concerned about those corrupt files though. I have a mind to do a system recovery but hate to go that far if I don't need to.

Hi and welcome to Sysnative. Sorry for the delay. Are you still in need of assistance?

Hello Brian. Thank you. Well, I still have those corrupt files, whatever they are. The computer seems to run okay but I can't help feeling it's not as it should be. At times it can be slow and perhaps hang up. One thing I've noticed is that my screen icons will flash occasionally. If you're not actually looking at the screen you can miss it. They don't flash completely on and off but they seem to just...flash.

The Windows 10 Fall Creator's Update has come out so let's install that which will likely fix your issue with the corrupt files.

    1. Download the Media Creation Tool and save this to your desktop. Go ahead and run this as well. Note: Click the Download tool now button when you get to this link.
    2. Accept the License Agreement
    3. Keep the default Upgrade this PC option and click Next.
    4. Let this process complete the upgrade to the newest build and let me know when complete.

Done. I ran another scan and guess what? No issues! Yay!

Re: BSOD Memory Management, sfc/scannow finding corrupt files

Well, this didn't work. After getting the update my computer slowed to a crawl. IE: It took 5 minutes for the computer to send a file to my printer. I also had numerous problems getting connected and had to run the troubleshooter each time I started the pc in the morning. So, I went back to the original build and things are much, much better. However, I ran sfc/scannow again and, as before, corrupted files. So, the question is, do I do anything about it? I don't really see a problem with how the pc functions right now. I have no idea what would be affected by those corrupted files, if anything. It certainly runs better than it did with the fall update. Any suggestions? Thoughts?

After you updated to the most recent build did you ensure to check for updates and install any that were there? There is a cumulative update and IE update that I believe resolves the printing issues.

I didn't go looking for anything but I do recall it saying your computer is up to date.

Re: BSOD Memory Management, sfc/scannow finding corrupt files

Weird. I had to install the following two after the main update.
    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/...date-kb4043961
    Microsoft Update Catalog

It's up to you but if you want to give it another shot some time, boot your machine in to a Clean Boot state following the instructions below.
    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/...oot-in-windows

Then install the main Windows 10 update again. Then attempt to download and install the other two I mentioned.

Lastly, open up notepad and print something to your printer. You may get an error...just click OK through the error.

At this point you should be good.

Okay, I might try it again. I was thinking about doing a system recovery to see if that does any good.

Re: BSOD Memory Management, sfc/scannow finding corrupt files

Hello Brian. I tried again. Something must have happened during the fist installation because the computer was not as slow as it was that first time. I checked again for the updates and the one I did not have was the one for Adobe Flash. I got that and tried to print something. No go. There didn't seem to be any communication. However, the file was in the printer dialog so I have no idea why it wouldn't print. This time I ran HP support assist and it found errors that it corrected. Tried printing again and it worked. So, we shall see what happens. Hopefully, things will be fine. Thanks again for your help.

Re: BSOD Memory Management, sfc/scannow finding corrupt files

Excellent news. We've updated about 20 machines and more than half of them needed the Adobe Flash update and an attempted print from notepad (with an error) before everything started working. Very weird indeed.

For example, my laptop got the update and I had printing issues. I installed the Adobe Flash update and then attempted to print from Excel. Wouldn't work. Just got errors. Then I printed from Notepad and got an error but it printed after clicking OK. Then all my printing worked including Excel. Weird!
