It would also be useful if you could tell me what you're looking for in the CBS log so I can see for myself and try to identify where the problem is.

Re: [Server2012 x64] Unable to install updates. Error 8007371B.

Let's see what this one says. Then I'll (hopefully) be able to tell you more.

    Step#1 - DISM /RestoreHealth Scan
Warning:this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.

    1. Right-click on the Start button and select Command Prompt (Admin)
    2. When command prompt opens, Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Right-click > Paste) the following command into it, then press Enter
      Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
    3. Once it finishes, copy and paste the following into the command-prompt window and press Enter. If prompted to overwrite the existing file go ahead.
      copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log "%userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt"
    4. Once this has completed please go to your Desktop and you will find CBS.txt => Please zip/upload to this thread.
Please Note:: if the file is too big (over 7MB) to upload to your next post, please upload via a service such as One Drive or SendSpace and just provide the link.

It looks like DISM repaired some corruption! Go ahead and try updates when able and if they fail again, attach CBS.log and we'll try something else:

Same deal as always, I'm afraid.

    CBS files below:

I've run a DISM scan on multiple occasions and while it always appear to fix stuff, it never actually makes any difference.

Re: [Server2012 x64] Unable to install updates. Error 8007371B.

Hello, I'm not trying to update any one particular update, it's just all updates in general are failing. In particular Monthly Quality Rollup for Windows updates. If you look at the attached image you will see that the last time this worked OK was March.

Every single monthly quality rollup update has failed since then. The current one trying to be installed is November's.

Also, Components file attached at the link below.

Did that and that specific update was uninstalled. Server needs to restart and is scheduled to do one tonight.

The problem I have, and this happened the last time you suggested this, once it restarts tonight, it will automatically try and install the November Quality Rollup Update and fail like always.

Re: [Server2012 x64] Unable to install updates. Error 8007371B.

We are not going around in circles. The reason you have to re-upload the hive is because I want to be thorough when fixing the issue, and verify that the fixes have indeed worked as expected, so it takes us a bit more time.

    Please do the following:

    SFCFix Script

Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.

    1. Download SFCFix.exe (by niemiro) and save this to your Desktop.
    2. Download the attached file, SFCFixScript.txt, and save this to your Desktop. Ensure that this file is named SFCFixScript.txt - do not rename it.
    3. Save any open documents and close all open windows.
    4. On your Desktop, you should see two files: SFCFix.exe and SFCFixScript.txt.
    5. Drag the file SFCFixScript.txt onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it.
    6. SFCFix will now process the script.
    7. Upon completion, a log should be created on your Desktop: SFCFix.txt.
    8. Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of this into your next post for me to analyse please - put [CODE][/CODE] tags around the log to break up the text.

Re: [Server2012 x64] Unable to install updates. Error 8007371B.

    OK, I've done the above.

When I drag the text file into the executable I get the following error message (see sfcfix.jpg) but of course there's nothing wrong with my internet connection.

The output of the SFCFix.txt file is also attached.

    Thanks again.

You can safely ignore the error.
Did you allow kb2995387 to re-install?

    Please do the following:

    1. Point your mouse to the lower left corner of your screen and hover there until the Start Screen icon appears. Then move your mouse on to the Start Screen and right-click and choose Command Prompt (Admin).
    2. A User Account Control dialog may come up asking for approval. If it does go ahead and allow.
    3. A command prompt window will open. Copy/Paste the following into the command-prompt and hit enter.
    wmic qfe list brief /format:texttablewsys > "%USERPROFILE%\desktop\hotfix.txt"

    4. After the command runs there will be a file on your desktop named hotfix.txt.
    5. Please zip/attach this file.

    Hotfix text file attached.

As for kb2995387 - I haven't specifically told any updates to re-install. Windows Updates are set to automatic so every day it tries to install what is the current monthly quality rollup update.
