[SOLVED] [Win7 x64] WU err 80073701. Issues with missing mum and cat files.

Hello, you guys have helped me a lot with my own desktop in the past but now i need some assistance with my parents win7 x64 laptop. For the past couple weeks I have been trying to recover some missing mum and cat files that checksur is detecting. I can't seem to get them fixed and I think that these missing files might be causing an error 80073701 in windows update. Please help if you are able, I have tried everything i could with the resources i have.

I have attached the checksur log that i mentioned, please help as soon as possible.

I tried some package files that i found online and they managed to fix some of the issues. I can't fix the rest on my own, here is an updated checksur log.

Please follow the instructions below. Note that this is a first fix and probably will not fix them all.

System Update Readiness Tool (SURT) - Fix

WARNING! The following fix is specific to the user's system in this thread. No one else should follow the instructions below to apply that fix, as it could damage your system. If you need assistance with an issue, please start a new thread and someone will assist you shortly.

Download the attached archive file, Packs.zip and save it on your Desktop.
Once it's downloaded, right-click on it and select Extract All....
Check the Show extracted files when complete checkbox, and click on Extract.
On completion, a folder will open with one folder, Packages.
Copy and paste the files of the Packages folder inside C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\servicing\Packages
Run the System Update Readiness Tool (SURT) again.
On completion, attach the log located at C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log in your next reply.

Okay here is the newest Checksur log, some of them were fixed but not all. I honestly think some of the things detected don't even belong on the laptop.

There is no need to run a fix twice. Just wait for the reply.

Okay I got the logs, does the problems look almost gone?

The latest fix didn't work. The .mum and .cat files issues are solved but other issues need to be fixed.

Step 1:
Install Update with DISM

Download the update MSU here: https://download.microsoft.com/down...9C10-85FC4A69B207/Windows6.0-KB968930-x86.msu
Copy the MSU file to a convenient location (such as C:\temp).
Click on the Start

button and in the search box, type Command Prompt
When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator
When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following commands into it, press enter after each

cd C:\temp
replace C:\temp with your path if different

expand Windows6.0-KB968930-x86.msu -f:* C:\temp

DISM.exe /Online /Add-Package /PackagePath:C:\temp\Windows6.0-KB968930-x86.cab
You should receive the message:
The operation completed successfully.
Make sure to allow the computer to restart if prompted.

If you receive any other message:
Right-click on the Command Prompt window and click Select All, this will invert all of the colours by selecting the text, now press enter. All of this text is now copied.
Paste (Ctrl+V) it into your next post.

Step 2:
Run the SURT tool again and attach the new logfile (CheckSur.log) in your next reply.

Okay, I ran the command and I was getting an error saying "Access is denied". Luckily I knew my way around that and gave myself permission to edit that regkey and then I ran that command again. This time it went through successfully.

Sure, I went into regedit, I gave ownership to Administrator for only that specific key, i only gave the admin full control so that the command would go through. The original owner was SYSTEM. Should I change it back?
