Unhappy [Win7 x64] Can't install Windows SP1 or any update on Windows 7! SFCFix find nothing

Now i'll be upfront and honest here and inform you i'm using Windows 7 Ultimate, cracked by WAT I believe.
I've tried many many options. Such as SURT and sfc /scannow etc with a bunch of rebooting in between repeated attempts.
Every time I try to install an update (specifically SP1 KB976932) it tells me it failed due to missing components.

I will attach my CBS logs and SFCFix logs as forum directs.

Since the OS is cracked, you may not get any help. Sorry.

I figured this might be the case. But I thought it was better to be upfront and honest with someone who is taking their precious time out to help me. Looks like a poor bugger is screwed. Around how much roughly could you pick up a copy of Windows 7 these days? Will have to start saving

You can get a Windows 7 ISO for free using Microsoft Windows ISO Download Tool. The Product Key(s) can be purchased for around $20US on ebay.

Oh really? $20 USD is affordable if I save for a week or two I'm sure. And it'll definitely be worth it so for the amount of hassle running a cracked version has caused me. I just didn't think you could get a copy for less than $100 really. So it's safe to buy a product key from eBay?

I've been dealing with ebay since 2002. 99.9% of my transactions have been satisfactory to exemplary. You're bound to get some miscreants no matter where you go.

    There;s a Win 7 Ultimate x64 DVD WITH Product Key for GBP 12.99 ($16.87US).

Awesome! Thank you so much for the help. I will definitely get one off eBay soon. So I will probably have to reinstall my OS with the new product key right? Can't do an "upgrade" or anything? So i'm going to need to back up all my data on an external is that correct sir? Sorry for the probably obviously answered questions, i'm quite new to all this.

Yessir, re-intall Win 7 with the new Product Key (to make it legit) AFTER backing up all of your data to an external storage device.

Before beginning the re-installation of Win 7 though, wipe the internal drive using a program like MiniTool Partition Wizard bootable CD or AOMEI Partition Assistant bootable CD (please Google for them). I've found that just formatting the drive before re-installing Windows tends to leave remnants of the PREVIOUS installation behind which frequently causes problems.

Thank you again for the help. What sort of problems? As in Windows update not working or???

Also, if I want to re-install windows via USB (I have no CD-drive) do I have to use a blank USB or will the external with all my backed up data (games, music etc) do? As long as it has the ISO or whatever? Very new to this

I will somehow try get the Windows 7 ISO that comes with SP1 already installed to avoid further issues with installing it when I buy this product key (very soon).

I encountered various issues with Windows not running correctly after only formatting the hard drive before re-installing Windows. Now, I ALWAYS wipe the drive first to make sure I'm rid of those remnants.

You'd need a blank 8 GB flash drive and a program like ISO to USB (please Google for it) to "burn" the ISO to the flash drive and make it bootable. Since you're going this route, you can use the ISO Download Tool I linked you to in Post #4 to download a Win 7 with SP1 ISO. Keep the DVD you'll get from ebay as a backup.

Also, when you've made your flash drive with Win 7 Setup on it, before you can boot to it, you'll need to go into BIOS Setup and set the boot order/sequence so that USB is first, ahead of the internal drive. Otherwise, you'll never get to Windows Setup.

As far as wiping the drive with MiniTool or AOMEI, since you don't have an optical drive, you'd need to "burn" their ISO to to a flash drive (1 GB is plenty) and make it bootable with ISO to USB as well. Change boot sequence/order in BIOS Setup before running MiniTool or AOMEI.

I just found out that the newest version (10.2) of MiniTool Partition Wizard requires you to pay for the ability to create bootable media ($39US). The previous version (9.1) had no such requirements (AOMEI Partition Assistant doesn't require payment either). I have the ISO file for the earlier version of MiniTool if you're interested.

Sorry, I've screwed up by the numbers.

1.) The ISO Download Tool doesn't download Win 7 Ult, only Home Premium and Pro. I have an untouched Win 7 Ult SP1 x64 ISO that I can upload to Google Drive or Mega and give you a link to so you can download it.

2.) ISO to USB will only work with Windows based ISOs so, it would work fine for the Win 7 ISO but NOT with Linux based ISOs which MiniTool and AOMEI are. You'd need Rufus to create a bootable USB flash drive for either of those.

Once again, sorry for the mistakes.

    Here's one for you.

The Win 7 Ult SP1 Key I bought from eBay 6 months ago is now BLOCKED by Microsoft (as of TODAY)!

I appreciate your honesty, but we simply cannot help you here.

The reason you can't install Windows Updates is likely because the Microsoft WU servers know your running a non-genuine copy of Windows.

I must now close this thread.
