    Re: [Win7SP1 x64] sfc /scannow reports problems

    They still don't get it:

The information we provide on this issue has resolved the handful of users who indicated these updates where already installed or installed by another means similar to what you describe. It was only after actually following the information we provide they were able to actually resolve the matter.

There was one case where both were installed and yet we were not allowed to install. In that case it turned out that despite the proper updates being installed, the user's registry was somehow set at read-only and the necessary registry keys were not updated.

The solution is available for your use. The choice is now yours to proceed and resolve the matter with that information. The only other alternative we can provide is to upgrade to Windows 8 or greater since the the requirements of these updates are already installed with the operating system.
    How to help them?
    Regards,
    Patrick

Doesn't sound like they are going to help. Let's see if we can figure it out.

If you still want to follow the instructions in Post#25, I can at least take a look to see if there are any other options.

I'll do that. Howeverr, it could take a few days.

When you get a chance, attempt to install the following update and let me know if you get any messages.

    Microsoft Update Catalog

As far as I remember, this patch created a reboot loop last time I tried. Could that be?

Then definitely don't do it if that's the case. I'll wait for you to provide the capture.

Also, since they likely won't help we can likely try the following.

You can uninstall KB4012218, and then install KB3033929.

Meanwhile, I decided to upgrade to Win 10 Pro. Let's see, how the next ILok upgrade will behave.
