    tried no luck
    (then again took me 10 min to figure this morning that had chrome muted when went outside with laptop)

    That's okay. Did chkdsk /f /r run to completion?

    I only see results from the 7th, and all of those tests are in read only mode. This might take quite a while to run the test, so you may want to schedule the disk check then reboot and let it run overnight.

    chkdsk /r

    1. Click on the Start button and in the search box, type Command Prompt
    2. When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator
    3. When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following commands into it, press enter after each

      chkdsk /r

    4. Reboot
    5. Download ListChkdskResult.exe (by SleepyDude) from the link below:

    6. Double click on it to run it. It will take a few seconds to scan, then it will open a Notepad window with the log. Copy and paste the contents of this into your next post please!

    2. Download the file below, SFCFix.zip, and save this to your Desktop. Ensure that this file is named SFCFix.zip - do not rename it.

    4. On your Desktop, you should see two files: SFCFix.exe and SFCFix.zip.
    5. Drag the file SFCFix.zip onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it.

    SFC Scan

    1. Right-click on the Start button and select Command Prompt (Admin)
    2. When command prompt opens, Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Right-click > Paste) the following command into it, then press Enter

      Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

    3. When DISM finishes scanning your component store, zip up and attach your CBS log to your next post:

      C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log


    If the zip file is larger than 8MB, please use a file sharing service such as OneDrive, DropBox, SendSpace, etc. and include the link with your reply.
