I have been struggling :banghead: to fix the dreadful windows update problem with the error code 80073712. After all of my digging I ran across this website:dance:. Can you please help me get my update corruption problems solved? Problem : Windows Update error code : 80073712 Brief : Windows updates are never successful due to numerous 0x800f0805 - CBS_E_INVALID_PACKAGE in the CBS.Log. I have downloaded and run the SFCFix.exe application and have put the output and my components registry at the dropbox location below. Dropbox - SFC Thank you! Cheers, -P

System Update Readiness Tool (SURT) - Scan Follow the instructions below to run a scan with the System Update Readiness Tool (SURT) and provide a log; Download the right version of SURT for your system; Your version of Windows is: Windows 7 x64 Once downloaded, execute the installer, and go throught the installation (this process can take around 15-20 minutes); On completion, a log will be created in C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log; Attach this log in your next reply; Alternatively, if these instructions are unclear for you, you can follow the tutorial below. Plus, there's so much corruption that I think a Repair Install would be a better option in your situation.
