Wow, i wasn't expecting a response actually. Thanks so much
Good thing is SFCfix got rid of the corruptions after i ran chkdsk. Unfortunately :s5:, that did not resolve the problem of "Disk" in Task Manager spiking up to 100% and making everything freeze up
Looking under the I/O read/write bytes columns in Task manager, svchost.exe, "System", MsMpEng.exe, adm.exe, and ExpressCache.exe are always the highest (not sure what that means though).
ExpressCache.exe seems to be related to "Disk Volume 4", while "System" is actually "ntoskrnl.exe" apparently
i used Acronis Drive Moniter and Window's Device Management to check the health of my hard drives and they look fine. But i see things like "The IO operation at logical block address 0x89cb00 for Disk 0 (PDO name: \Device\0000003c) was retried" and "The device, \Device\Harddisk0\DR0, has a bad block" in Event Viewer, under Windows Logs/System
i'm not exactly computer-savvy, so i've just been trying random solutions on the internet. i use a laptop btw
Not sure if this kind of problem belongs in this forum, but if not i'd like to apologize in advance. Thanks again!
