The computer (Toshiba Satellite) is running Windows 7 Pro x64 and after a long period of 6 months during which the laptop was powered off I am performing maintenance tasks for a couple days now.
Yes it did have a few malware, but I think I managed to clean everything after running 4 programs in the row (adware, junkware removal, malwarebytes and hitman pro). Installed a lot of updates but these 2 are very stubborn :smile9:.
Have tried everything. Microsoft Fix It 50202, 50123, sfc scannow, standalone installer, clean boot. Nothing worked.
KB2800095 which is an old update appears to install but on restart configuring updates goes up to 11%, then computer restarts and reverting changes.
KB3087038, for which I care more because it's a cumulative security update for internet explorer, just fails to install.
Both updates report an error code 80070570
