Some time ago, I noticed that my computer, Dell XPS 8700, WIN 8.1, would not wake up from sleep. I had to hold the power button down to manually shut it down, then push again to restart the computer. Further investigation revealed that whenever a re-boot was required due to any software updates, Windows would cycle down; however, the power button never went off, and the computer doesn't boot unless I hold the power button down to manually shut it off, tyhe push again to re-start. Also noticed that when I was telling the computer to sleep, the power button always stayed lit and never turned the amber color indicating the sleep state.
Posted this issue on Bleepingcomputer.com, and it was suggested to run SFCfix.exe and post back to them the results. I did but haven't heard anything else. Hoping someone here can come up with a fix.
