    Help repair corrupt files

Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them.
Hi I would appreciate any help. I'm having trouble opening programs. I tried to automatically repair files but got the unable to fix message. Can I upload my CBS folder to someone? I have been experiencing weird things and also have received the message
Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them
    Thank you, Lynn

    Re: Help repair corrupt files

Hi, thank you for your response. I can't upload anything because I think my corrupt files are preventing me from opening any programs on my laptop. I am connected to wifi at home but I can't seem to access the Internet, even though my network says it is connected. I have been trying to fix this problem for a week now and nothing is working. I don't know what else to do. Thanks for your help. Any suggestions are much appreciated.

    Re: Help repair corrupt files

Can you boot your machine into a Clean Boot state? Please try that and let me know when that is done. Also, can you tell me the Operating System you have? (i.e. Windows 7, Windows 8).

    Thanks.

    Re: Help repair corrupt files

I did the clean boot and nothing seems to have changed. Unfortunately my operating system is Vista.

The good news is when I hit CTRL ALT DEL, the task manager now works. Before I was getting the un handled exception c0000005h. Not anymore

    Re: Help repair corrupt files

Good, at least it's a little more stable. Can you try the following?

    Step#1 - ChkDsk Scan
    1. Click your Start Orb in the lower left of your computer and type cmd in the search box.
    2. Once the cmd program is found, right-click on it with your mouse and select Run as administrator as shown below.

    3. Answer Yes when asked to allow.
    4. You should now have a black window open that you can type in to.
    5. Please type chkdsk and then press enter.
    6. Chkdsk will start to run. Please allow it to finish. You will know it is running when you see text as follows.

    7. Download ListChkdskResult.exe by SleepyDude and save it on your desktop. If it's already downloaded to your desktop, just skip this step.
    8. Right-click this file and select Run as administrator (Allow if prompted)and a text file will open (and also be saved on the desktop as ListChkdskResult.txt).
Please copy the contents of this file and paste into your next post.

    Re: Help repair corrupt files

OK, let's see what options we have. Please try the following.

    Retrieve File through FTP
    1. Click the Start Orb in the lower left corner of your screen.2. Type cmd.exe and click on the cmd that comes up in the search results.
    3. You will be at a black command prompt window.
    4. Type cd Desktop and hit enter on the keyboard.
    5. Type the following commands in the command prompt window hitting enter after each command.
    ftp
    open drabrouter.selfip.net
    g2g
I'll send you a PM with what to type here
    binary
    get ListChkdskResult.exe

    6. After you type the last command it may take a few minutes before the transfer is complete. When it's complete it will say something like ftp: 2086912 bytes received in 16.49Seconds 126.56Kbytes/sec.

Let me know if this worked. Thanks.

    Re: Help repair corrupt files

So this is odd. cd Desktop says the system cannot find the path specified
The rest of the commands say "not recognized as an internal or external command operable program or a batch file"

    Re: Help repair corrupt files

So you were able to open up a command prompt correct?

    Re: Help repair corrupt files

Yes. I usually open as administrator CTRL shift enter. I was able to run chkdsk earlier It was the last thing I did before sleepy dude. I did accidentally unplug the computer and had to reboot it not sure if that's the issue, but I'm restarting it now to try again

    Re: Help repair corrupt files

OK, when following my previous instructions, please don't open up as administrator. That's why when you did cd desktop that it couldn't find the path.

    Re: Help repair corrupt files

Ok. Do I need to redo chkdsk prior to cd Desktop?

    Re: Help repair corrupt files

After Ftp:socket The remaining commands got the same response" not recognized as an intern or extra command operable program or batch file
Is there any other way to access the
    ListCHKDSKResult? Lynn
