Windows update wont work. It will sit for hours and do nothing. the Update window in the settings will become non responsive. I have tried sfc /scan now and I just get an error message and it says I have a corrupt file that it can't repair. I read through the forums and tried some dism commands and I just get more messages about not being able to fix the corrupt files. Any help would be great. I would rather not reinstall windows 8.

Lets get started here by viewing the results of the SFC scan. Export CBS folder Right click on the button Click on File Explorer Double-click on the C: drive, under the Hard Disk Drives category, and then scroll down to, and double click on the Windows folder. Find and double click on the Logs folder. Right-click on the CBS folder, and select Copy. Go back to your Desktop, right-click on it, and select Paste. You should now see a copy of the CBS folder appear on your Desktop called CBS. Right-click on this new folder, and navigate through Send to, and select Compressed (zipped) folder. A new file, also called CBS (CBS.zip), but this time with a different icon, will be created. Attach this to your next post please. Please Note:: if the file is too big to upload to you next post please upload via Dropbox or One Drive Thanks Alex
