Most people don't like Internet Explorer or the add-ons however I am a fan of the research explorer bar which comes installed with Microsoft Office. In some cases I don't yet understand the explorer bars are not available at all however I found a way to enable the research explorer bar again.
There is one trick
/workaround to get these to work again in a new user account.


  1. Create a new admin user account.
  2. Change your current user account type to "standard".
  3. Sign-out, then sign in to that standard user.
  4. From the standard user account open Internet Explorer as the new admin user account that had not yet been logged into.


From then on out these explorer bars work in the newly created user account, and only in that user account.
I am a fan of these explorer bars. In particular the "research" "explorer bar". It's essentially the Microsoft
Office dictionary, and encyclopedia that you find elsewhere in the office suites only as an Internet Explorer sidebar.
