My wifi stopped working randomly so I decided to do a restore point. The only problem it wont let me do a system restore because some files are corrupt. I did the sfc/ scannow and it said it found some corrupted files but were unable to fix them check the CBS.log. The log is so long I don't know if should post it all in here or just email to someone who can look at it and determine what files are corrupt?
Hello,
I will try to help you, I am a user not a tech from this site.
If you have windows 8 or 8.1 we will try to fix.
Turn on your computer and log into windows.
Once in windows press windows key and go to top left power symbol once there hold down left shift and click restart.
You must hold left shift until a different menu shows up once the menu comes up click the troubleshooting tab/menu.
Then click the advanced tab/menu.
Once that menu opens you will see a bunch of choices on the screen, choose the one that says command prompt.
You will need your full password if you have one. The pin code wont work, It has to be your password.
Select the user name you use and enter your full password.
At that point a command prompt will show up on screen.
From that command prompt now enter the "sfc \scannow" line hit enter.
It should then be able to repair features it could not fix before.
If it comes up saying fixed simply enter "exit" and choose to open windows 8.1.
Now you should be able to restore to a previous restore point.
If it does not fix the issue then one of the support members on this site should be able to help.
At that point it is beyond my knowledge.
Hope it helps.
