You enter the key in the Anytime Upgrade area. Windows 8.1 desktop to Windows 8 Pro Click to expand... Assuming you meant Windows 8.1 > Windows 8.1 Pro, yes, it will work. Also, whenever in doubt, reference the upgrade paths page - Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 Upgrade Paths
