    [Win7SP1 x64] Help To Fix Error Event 1001, Dhcp-Client

    Dear Sir/Madam,

Please help me to fix the Error Event ID: 1001, Dhcp-Client. Got two Error Event 1001 which happened almost together. Since the happening of these errors, the internet connection upon start-up is taking more than usual time to connect.

Your computer was not assigned an address from the network (by the DHCP Server) for the Network Card with network address 0x00FF2C6807AE. The following error occurred: 0x79. Your computer will continue to try and obtain an address on its own from the network address (DHCP) server.

Really need to fix these errors.

Screenshots of the errors are attached in this thread.

    Make : ASUS
    Model : B85M-G (Motherboard)

I have updated the network driver to the latest version. Perhaps the new version of this driver is causing the problem, but after I restored back the problem persists.

Please refer to the attachment, thanks.

I see you have a USB network adapter, in what USB port is it connected?

Could you run the following command and upload the eventlog.txt file, I seem to have chosen the wrong event logs.
    Code:
    wevtutil qe Application /f:text > "%USERPROFILE%\Desktop\eventlog.txt"

One of the rear 10-1 pin USB 2.0 connector ports of the CPU is connected with this adapter.

Re: [Win7SP1 x64] Help To Fix Error Event 1001, Dhcp-Client

Odd, neither System nor Application Windows logs have the event logs about the dhcp issue.

Could you check when these events started to show up, and check whether a system restore point is available from prior these events (if any), this will be as some sort of a last resort solution.

Have you been using Avast Driver Updater, Advanced SystemCare and Driver Booster 5 to update drivers and 'take care' of your system?
I'm asking, because the drivers of these update programs can affect your issue whereas Advanced SystemCare is known for causing issues (and has some statements that are not (entirely) correct).

Re: [Win7SP1 x64] Help To Fix Error Event 1001, Dhcp-Client

These events started when I had updated the 802.11n USB Wireless LAN Card driver last few months. After updated this driver, the connection becoming unstable (constantly on and off). I had restored back to the previous restore point and reinstalled back this driver but these error events persist. The connection seems ok, but taking more than usual time to connect when startup pc. These errors show up every time pc startup. Sometimes the errors show up also after a few hours, then the connection becomes lost, and need to restart pc to re-connect to the internet. Is there anyway, to fix these errors? Thanks.

I have also updated all the drivers using Driver Booster and Avast Driver Updated. The screenshots are attached here.

Re: [Win7SP1 x64] Help To Fix Error Event 1001, Dhcp-Client

If you have a restore point prior installing any drivers from Avast and IObit (driver booster vendor) please use it, these software are not recommended, mainly because you don't need them.

Although, it is typically recommended to have the drivers of a USB network adapter up to date, please go back to the previous driver version to confirm the issue is with the latest drivers.

Re: [Win7SP1 x64] Help To Fix Error Event 1001, Dhcp-Client

But the restore points prior to the error events have been deleted. Unable to get back that restore point now. By the way, it could be started by some windows updates also. I have tried to look out how to fix this error events for months through many websites, still unable to fix the problem. Is there anything that I should do or check?
