Identify your drive in the list, and double-click on it to bring up it's window (usually you'll find your drive by it's size or it's brand name); Go in the Perform Tests tab, then select Extended Self-test in the Test type drop-down list and click on Execute (this test can take a few hours to complete); Once the test is over, the results will be displayed at the bottom of the window. Please copy and paste these results in your next reply; Also, go in the Attributes tab and if you have any entries highlighted in red or pink, take a screenshot of the GSmartControl window and attach it in your next reply;

Let's restore your redistributable runtimes. There is a very quick and easy tool that will do this. Download Visual C++ Runtime Installer (All-In-One) - MajorGeeks Read what Tim wrote about it and run the video, he has there. Download and run the installer after creating a restore point. Since we don't know which runtimes are the problem, just install them all. Here is some background info on what these are. Why Are There So Many “Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables” Installed on My PC?

Successfully installed all Visual C++ Redistributables as per your post. Then a cold Boot. However still the problem persists. On the bright side though I now have all the versions (Was missing 2012) Magdalene.

The next library area we should pursue is .Net Framework and now updates come into the picture. A scary scene. I need some time to look into Framework. More info is here ... What Is the Microsoft .NET Framework, and Why Is It Installed on My PC? Considering the age of OSK, version 3.5.1 seems to be of most interest. I'm not sure if its best to try and fix things now or wait for DefCon 3 in a couple of weeks. By now, you should have been notified by WU that KB4099633 is waiting in the wings. It is a package rollup of 3 updates for versions 3.5.1, 4.5.2, and 4.6.1 Maybe the update, which is cumulative, will fix the issue. If you want to do a repair now, howtogeek gives a link to an MS repair tool, you can use. I've never had call to run it myself, but if get some time later, I might check it out. Possibly, others will shed more light on the situation.
