No browsing; The Proxy Server Isn't Responding

    Hi
Lately, I am getting this annoying error message no matter what browser I use, so no browsing after this message appears. However, I have internet connection and can send and receive emails through Outlook. I can fix the problem temporarily by resetting the internet settings (in IE) which also requires a PC restart. After that, Itís OK for a while but then it comes again.
I have tried this suggestion: Internet Option -> Connection ->Lan Settings -> and unchecked all the checked boxes. It does not work for me and strangely enough next time I go there the boxes are checked again. I am really annoyed by this I have three PCs and this is the only one with drama.
    Any help isappreciated.

Re: No browsing; The Proxy Server Isn't Responding

    Hello and welcome to Sysnative!

    Step#1 - FRST Scan

    1. Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop.
Note: You need to run the 64-bit Version so please ensure you download that one.
    2. Right click to run as administrator. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
    3. Please ensure you place a check mark in the Addition.txt check box at the bottom of the form before running (if not already).
    4. Press Scan button.
    5. It will produce a log called FRST.txt in the same directory the tool is run from (which should now be the desktop)
    6. Please attach the log back here.
    7. Another log (Addition.txt - also located in the same directory as FRST64.exe) will be generated Please also attach that along with the FRST.txt in your reply.
    GrandNEd says thanks for this.

Re: No browsing; The Proxy Server Isn't Responding

I see that Adobe servers are blocked. This could indicate a presence of pirated version of Adobe Product.
Is your Adobe Acrobat X Pro pirated?

Re: No browsing; The Proxy Server Isn't Responding

Can the server being blocked has to to with this issue? It has always been blocked, but this problem appears recently. I can remove it if that is the root-cause.

No. The reason I am saying that is because if Adobe is pirated, we are not allowed to help, because that would violate Sysnative Forum Rules.

    1. Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop.
Note: You need to run the 64-bit Version so please ensure you download that one.
    2. Download attached file and save it to the Desktop.
Note. It's important that both files, FRST64 and fixlist.txt are in the same location or the fix will not work (in this case...the desktop).

    CreateRestorePoint:
    Hosts: 127.0.0.1 activate.adobe.com
    S2 KMS-R@1n; C:\Windows\KMS-R@1n.exe [X]
    RemoveProxy:
    EmptyTemp:
I am more interested in teh 2nd and 3rd line.

Re: No browsing; The Proxy Server Isn't Responding

    Okay, let's approach this differently:

    Please do the following:
(Note: This will address only your proxy issues).

    Step#1 - FRST Fix
NOTICE: This script was written specifically for this user, for use on that particular machine. Running this on another machine may cause damage to your operating system
    3. Run FRST64 by Right-Clicking on the file and choosing Run as administrator.
    4. Press the Fix button just once and wait. If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
    5. When finished FRST64 will generate a log on the Desktop (Fixlog.txt). Please post the contents of it in your reply.

    Any questions?

Re: No browsing; The Proxy Server Isn't Responding

    Dear softwaremaniac,
My problem is somehow not showing up, which is a good thing. It could be due to some program that I have deleted from my PC. It was called Install shield. I noticed that a message box pupped up saying something “Install shield unable to …update manager .. etc” and right after that browsing went down with the message about proxy.
Install shield was not listed in the installed program list but there was a folder containing some files belonging to this application. I have deleted that folder and since then, (some 4-5 days) I did not have the problem.
Btw, resetting the setting in IE did not solve the problem (as I assumed it did earlier) either; it was restarting the router that helped temporarily.

I guess we can call this issue solved for the moment.
Thanks for help so far. If the problem resurafces I will fall on my knees again:)
    Regards
