Re: [Win7 x64] programs freeze randomly

my problem is still happening.. does anybody know how to run kenrate? i downloaded it and when i run it, a cmd window pops open and then shuts. i cant seem to figure out how to run it in cmd or even elevated cmd. i can't find any instructions on how to start it besides typing in the
    Kernrate_i386_XP.exe
in the cmd line but that doesnt work.. anybody know how to run it?
system ntkernel & system keeps taking up cpu.
and also, firefox takes up a gig of memory.
anybody know how to go about fixing this or if i need to just wipe it out and start over... could i get a new hd and start fresh.. and if it goes wrong, can i just plug in the old hd and it be like old?

According to the usage guide found here
    Code:
    http://gate.upm.ro/os/LABs/Processes/Windows/SysInternals/Kernrate/KernrateViewer.doc
you have to agree to the terms of service by opening the xls file first. The guide is from 2003. Perhaps you can find something more up to date.

I found something else that says you have to match the program to the architecture. You are trying to run an i86 version on a 64 bit computer. So search for a 64 bit version, if one exists.

I would suggest opening a new thread in https://www.sysnative.com/forums/security-arena/ using the following posting instructions: Malware Removal Posting Instructions

I would not make any other suggestions until we can be certain that the system is clean.

Firefox and Chrome are web browsers which typically take up a considerable amount of memory. Have you considered trying a different browser and checking the memory usage?
