I started noticing a few weeks back that MS Security essentials seemed not to be updating itself automatically. When I go to Windows update I note that there can be several ‘important updates’ that have not been installed including MS SE ones. I have Office Pro 2013 and this is now out of date but when I try to run updates I get an error saying something went wrong. This thread refers: MS Office will not update, says something went wrong, not associated - Microsoft Community Clearly something seems wrong with the updates on this machine? A while back I had issues with MS Visual C++ not being installed, this was fixed but during the diagnosis of this I wonder if some MS Fix I ran has upset updates. Please can someone help me fix this, thanks.
