There's a tool from Microsoft called Media eXperience Analyzer which is mainly used to try and track down audio and video playback issues. I've only seen videos of it being used to analyze traces of a computer experiencing noticeable glitches while playing a video in full screen although I'm sure it can do much more. To get the trace you'd need to use the GUI version of wpr and add a custom profile which looks like this when setup to be used on my computer.

To get to that point you need to have first installed the correct GUI version of Windows Performance Recorder. If you type "wpr" in the Windows menu do you get a tile for "Windows Performance Recorder"? If so, go ahead and launch it and let us know what version it is from the About button.
