Click on Speakers in the first picture and verify that's configured correctly.

Do you have headphones or another set of speakers you could test?

No sound with the headphones. My speakers work fine when plugged into my iPhone. See attached. The green bar moves with the audio next to the speaker icon. But nothing out of the rear or front jacks

Hmmm, is there a chance you could borrow a W10 compatible sound card for testing purposes?

I got a Sound Blaster card, plugged it in and I have sound to the speakers. See the attached. The Realtek drivers are still installed according to device manager.

Re: No sound after upgrading to Windows 10

Just to confirm: You now DO have sound and everything is normal? If that's the case it really might have been an incompatibility issue as I've suspected.

Re: No sound after upgrading to Windows 10

I do have sound through the speakers now with the SB card installed. Everything seems to work. As far as incompatibility, I have attached 2 screenshots form the motherboard manufacturers (MSI) website showing that the latest Realtek audio driver I have installed is compatible with Win10 64 bit. The BIOS screen shows that the current version is 5.4. My BIOS is well below that. In fact it is the original BIOS that came with the MB. Could that be a problem?

My other thought is that I have a failed (defective) sound output chip on the board.

Re: No sound after upgrading to Windows 10

If it worked on an earlier OS version it shouldn't be the BIOS. If you know what you're doing, flash it to the latest version, but I'd just put in a compatible sound card :)

    Merry Christmas!

Re: No sound after upgrading to Windows 10

I think that is my best solution. I will use the SB card. I should not need the Realtek audio drivers anymore, correct??
