    resetTOCUhpad shutdown/restart error.

    Yes ...

    Code:
    ResetTocuhPad is preventing restart
is what is says on W10-restart. This is W10 Home, build 16299.rs3_release.170928-1534.

    CMD
    Code:
    ver
    says

    Version 10.0.16299.19
Recently upgraded from 8.1 with all W10 updates, OEM drivers .. basically bare bones for apps. Dell Touchpad works fine. Have uninstalled and reinstalled driver and made sure it is the current version from Dell. This strange error pops up during restart and does not seem to time out and restart, but instead times out back to Desktop. Restart Anyway does restart.

    I did a search for

    Code:
    resettocuhpad
but nothing was found. tocuhpad not found in registry.

    What is the strange error?

I'm sorry, but I don't quite understand what the question is here.

    Re: resetTOCUhpad shutdown/restart error.

I think this might be a typo in the Insider version. Please upgrade your system to the latest RTM release and not the Insider one and see if that remedies your issue.

    Re: resetTOCUhpad shutdown/restart error.

    Hi WacoJohn,

I'm using a Dell XPS 12 (9Q23) and have the same issue.
I think the "Tocuh" is a typo on some internal metadata of the application. I think the problem application is the Atmel TouchScreen Control, the ResetTouch.exe. This application lives in c:\Program Files\Dell\QuickSet, and I was running version 1.0.0.3.

Within the last half hour I've updated Dell QuickSet from 10.15.013 to 10.15.018, which has updated ResetTouch.exe to 1.0.0.5 and am waiting to see if that helps matters or now.

    Re: resetTOCUhpad shutdown/restart error.

WOW .. somehow, I was not notified of any replies. So sorry. No longer getting that shutdown/restart notification with the mispelling in it. I am NOW, running W10 Home Build 16299.rs3_release.170928-1534 also known as

    C:\Users\owner>verMicrosoft Windows [Version 10.0.16299.19]

so no longer having the issue. Thank you all for the replies.

    Re: resetTOCUhpad shutdown/restart error.

For the benefit of others, ... the REAL cause of this problem (for me) was that an update of Dell Quickset for W10 was needed. Get it from Dell Drivers and Downloads. Has take me months to figure out that was the problem. At least ... for me.
