[Win10x64]Audio and mouse stutter when opening program

Hi, for quite a while now i have had an issue whenever i open games/application my sound and mouse becomes to stutter. The time vary much from application to application, but can be up to 30 sec.

I have recently updated drivers like Nvidia, bios and chipset etc. Also formatted my Windows about a week ago, because i thought it was the root of the problem. I have also overclocked my cpu and gpu, but problem is still there if i revert the settings to normal.

I took a DPC latency test with Latencymon for about 5 minutes opening and closing application and games:

Re: [Win10x64]Audio and mouse stutter when opening program

    1. Upload msinfo32.txt
      1. Hit the Windows key on your computer
      2. Type msinfo32 and hit Enter
      3. Click on File and choose Export
      4. Save msinfo32.txt in a place you will remember and upload with your next post
    2. Check whether a clean boot provides better or worse results.
    3. Reset your BIOS to see if some issue creeped up with your hardware/software configuration : 3 Ways to Reset Your BIOS - wikiHow

See Method 2 of the following guide to enter your BIOS : How to Enter BIOS: 8 Steps (with Pictures) - wikiHow

You do not need to clear the BIOS with all three methods in the first link. Resetting to defaults (optimized defaults/setup defaults/etc.) through the BIOS user interface is sufficient.
    4. Run a disk check through Command Prompt to repair drive errors
      1. Right click on your Start button
      2. Choose Command Prompt (Admin)
      3. Click on Yes in the pop up dialog asking if you want to allow this app to make changes to your device
      4. Enter
        Code:
        chkdsk c: /r
        and hit Enter to proceed
      5. Type Y when asked Would you like to schedule this volume to be checked the next time the system restarts?
[Win10x64]Audio and mouse stutter when opening program-chkdsk-png
    5. Provide your event viewer logs
      1. Click Start button
      2. Type eventvwr into Search programs and files and hit Enter
      3. Expand Windows Logs
      4. Click Application
      5. Right click Application
      6. Save all Events As...
      7. Save them in a folder where you will remember which folder and save as Application.xml
      8. Go to where you saved Application.xml
      9. Repeat d.-h. with System and save as System.xml
      10. Select Application.xml and System.xml and Right click -> send to -> compressed (zipped) folder
      11. Upload the .zip file here.

    Thanks for replaying.
I have done everything above, it dose not seem to help. I still stutter/lag when opening programs and so on even in clean startup. The bios is updated and is reset to factory settings.
I provided the files you wanted.

Re: [Win10x64]Audio and mouse stutter when opening program

Your errors primarily point to your NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 : Do you have another GPU you can test instead of the 1080?

Also, what power supply are you using in your system : Brand, wattage?

Do your latency issues go away if you only use one monitor?

Removed it yesterday, but didn't have time to test, so i will do that today and update you. Do you know of any other software that can control my fans? have done this trough Corsair link for a long time.

I used to use SpeedFan, but I've since just let my system control the fan speeds. You should probably do some research and find out what hardware experts recommend as far as what software to use or whether to use any software at all.

Re: [Win10x64]Audio and mouse stutter when opening program

I apologize about the bump on an old thread, but I have been having the same exact issue for quite long time. It went away for a while on the worst offending programs, but recently came back with the most recent windows 10 creative update. I forgot what I initially did to solve it.

I can say that the issue has persisted through multiple different video cards. (GTX 570, 770 and 1070). I feel it is most likely related to sound drivers. My motherboard has realtek audio and I have a creative soundblastander titanium HD soundcard. I doubt I will get a reply from you leifus since the thread is old, but we should compare specs/software to see if we can find a common culprit.

I can't say i have noticed the problem a lot lately, i guess something got update or i just stoped doing stuff(WoW is a ***** :P). I have Realtak audio driver on my motherboard aswell. When it comes to programs i use Discord, Teamspeak, Evga percision XOC, Steam, Display Fusion, Greenshot and Chrome(if browser matters)

if u want to compare specs:
    CPU: i7-6700k@4.5Ghz
    GPU: Evga 1080 FTW
Mobo: Asus Rog Maximus VIII Ranger
SSD: Samsung 950 Pro NVMe for my OS.

Re: [Win10x64]Audio and mouse stutter when opening program

I've been doing some more testing and it seems it is monitor related. Turning off 2 of my 3 monitors completely solves the problem for me. The issue is about 25% there with just 2 monitors connected. I've checked all nvidia settings I can find, and the issue was never present on windows 8. It looks like it has to do with the way windows handles multiple high res monitors. I'll do some more digging to see if I can find exactly what causes it.

i had a little chat with Microsoft on their forum a while back regarding a issue with multiple monitors with different Hz/Refresh rate. That seems to be built into windows to force all monitors to same Hz/Refresh rate even tho they are different. Could maybe be the same cause? Windows locks hz to all monitors if animations - Microsoft Community

From a little bit of testing, it doesn't seem like refresh rate is related. Turning my 144hz down to match my 60hz monitors causes no improvement when 3 monitors are involved. 144hz/60hz also shows no real difference with just 2 monitors connected. From what I can see, just the presence of a 3rd monitor seems to cause the issue. Disconnecting the 3rd within windows settings makes no difference, it has to be physically powered off for the issue to disappear.

I really appreciate your input though, it is helping me a lot with the troubleshooting direction I take. This is the only thread I was able to find of someone who has had the same exact issue as me.
