Laptops will also have this battery, but it is not recommended to open the laptop. I say this because some manufactures design the laptops so only technicians can/should open it. Look up a disassembly guide from ifixit. If you open the laptop, there is a chance you might damage a ribbon cable which will prevent the computer from working at all or from working correctly. (i.e. hard drives, keyboard/mouse, usb ports, other io, such as vga, hdmi, 3.5mm audio ports, etc. may stop working.)
If you don't know what you are doing, don't open your laptop.
If you still aren't able to boot to another drive, then from another computer, you could install easybcd. Read this next part carefully.
If you feel you might mess up, do not attempt it.
You want to connect an external hard drive to the computer, then you want to create an MBR for that external hard drive.
Creating a Bootable USB
MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT ERASE THE MBR ON THE DRIVE THAT IS RUNNING WINDOWS!! (Usually C:\) IF YOU IGNORE THIS WARNING, YOU MAY NOT BE ABLE TO BOOT ON THAT COMPUTER EITHER.
Then you can add the bios extender
Adding Entries to the drive. Take out the hard drive from the computer you are locked out of, and place this one in its spot. Boot the computer and launch Bios Extender, then switch the hard drives back, insert your cd/usb and boot from it.
