Huge DPC on multiple Windows Drivers

Hi guys,

I've been working my way through all the the similar posts and have tried all suggestions. I can't seem to find a solution to this issue. Below I've attached a report from latencymon that shows the kinds of things I'm seeing. It's typically much worse too. Sound will pop and crack and framerates will slow until the driver crashes. I've been trying to fix this alone for months now, and have wasted a ton of money thinking it was a hardware problem. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance

Yes you are right recently we face many problems like this and the solutions are not quite working.

I`ll ask you to confirm few things.

1. please open a relevant administrator command prompt and paste the following

list disk

Copy the printed information.

2. Run SFCFix

This free tool created by Niemiro is a very good starting point for the diagnosis and repair of all Windows Update and System File Checker corruptions. We therefore need you to run this tool prior to collecting logfiles.

First download and run a copy of the tool from https://www.sysnative.com/forums/downloads/sfcfix/.
Work through any on-screen prompts and then await completion (runtime is approximately 15 minutes).
Once it has finished, if there are any unrepaired corruptions (the tool will notify you if it has succeeded in repairing all corruptions if they're simple in which case we're no longer needed) or unresolved problems with your computer, you need to post us the complete logfile which opens on exit. Simply copy (Ctrl-A, Ctrl-C) and paste (Ctrl-V) the entire logfile into your thread (also know as a 'topic').

3. Use MinitoolBox.

Use only List installed programs.

We manage to confirm with tree other people the problem lies with the last NVIDIA drivers, we was trying to install old version and troubleshoot this, unfortunately no luck.

The only thing I could amend is to re-formatting and installing Windows on gpt or installing Windows 7 or 8 till they fix the issues.

I`m sorry to say that but I relly don`t wanna waste your time with solutions I`m aware will not help you.

If you have a firewall try turning off block port scans in network (or similar) as it may just work. I had audio & video stuttering issues with both an AMD setup and then again with a new Intel build and it ended up being that option in my Bitdefenders firewall, as soon as I turned it off no more stutters and no high DPC or execution times in the 100's, the ndis.sys driver is now max 1.04ms execution time so far after 40 minutes and it used to show up within seconds before! Worth a shot if you have that option available, if not then sorry I can't help you this time! Good luck though.

Just curious ... did the BSOD while running Driver Verifier point to any specific driver in it's error message? . . . if you happened to record the error, I'd be interested in seeing it.

Also, what do you see if you run a system health-check using Performance Monitor (it doesn't always work on all systems, but you might be lucky) ... Right-click the Windows 10 Start Menu > Select Command Prompt (Admin) > type perfmon /report and press Enter... If you'd like, you can post that output here.

I imagine you've run a trace or two for the cpu (to check on the DPC latency) ... if you'd like to post your latest cpu trace - those can provide a nice DPC graph in the Windows Performance Analyzer. Or you can post a few screen-shots from Latency Monitor, one for DPC and one for hard page faults (it's the 6.50 version? if not, update it & grab a graph). I prefer the Performance Monitor traces myself, but when you've got a decent system that hasn't been behaving for a long time, it's "all tools on deck" for a chance at repair.

If you didn't already disable Driver Verifier, you'll want to do that. And don't let Latency Monitor run except when you are testing ... it's a little funny that Latency Monitor itself is a source of high DPC counts.

h4x0rm1k3's fix for firewall-caused stuttering really does work ... if you've got a firewall at fault. That should show up in your graphs: the firewall will have the highest DPC rating. His was the BitDefender firewall ... but any firewall might have a similar effect if it has the issue causing high DPC in the blocking mechanism used to stop port scans. As h4x0rm1k3 pointed out to me earlier today: if you have a modem/router/gateway device that includes a port-scanning blocker (most do) then the fix doesn't lower your defenses.. hooray for that!
