I'm thinking of a new page for carrona.org and sysnative.com

It'll be an extract of all descriptions that have the BSOD in the description.

Just as Mike's app pulls these out for highlighting in the app's output, this would be a reference page of drivers that have a known propensity for BSOD's (with a huge caveat at the top!)

It'll simply be a page of DRT entries, but only those that have BSOD in the descriptions

I see it as 1) a handy reference for BSOD analysts and 2) useful for people searching for help with BSOD's who search for things like: "BSOD and rtcore64.sys"

Good idea/bad idea/possible/impossible/not practical/waste of time?

I think it would be a good idea. :-}

Will you continue to keep the DRT BSOD warning in the descriptions for carrona.org and sysnative.com (for use with the apps)?

I see this as an additional page - but this is just in the "talking" stage.
FWIW - I don't forsee changing the DRT at all - just extracting info from it for inclusion in the new page.

Input? Discussion?

Thanks Geoff! But I'd think it should be a bit more like this one: BSOD&cat=1]Driver Reference Table
The search is for "]BSOD" (without the quotes)
I'd like to get a static page name for it - something like drtbsod.php (although we can stick with the Advanced Search URL if needed) - and name the page something like "Common drivers found involved in BSOD's"

Any problem making it auto-update if we add another "[red]BSOD[/red] in the Information column?

No problem John,

Any other drivers aside from those with "BSOD" in them that we should include?

It will auto update based off whatever you tell me to have it auto update by...

No, that'd be fine. We had worked out with Mike that the [red]BSOD[/red] was the que for the app to select that driver to display.
I'll shoot Mike a PM and ask him to weigh in on this. I don't expect it to affect (?effect?) the app, but it doesn't hurt to make sure.

Should be fine with the apps. The apps just search for the strings "]BSOD", " BSOD", and "w/BSOD". As long as the BSOD warning tags are set up with either of those, it won't break the apps. It appears that your aim is for the first one, which is great. :-}

I won't be changing how the information is stored in the DB or how dump.txt is generated. I will just be creating a new page and running queries there...

ETA: tomorrow after school

Plans + Physics mid term to study for today :banghead:

Hi John,

Just wanted to let you know I haven't forgotten about you :grin1:

Got busy last night and wasn't able to get around to it.

Hopefully tonight if all goes well :lol:

This is just a static page that displays the known BSOD drivers. It'll be the same as a search for ]BSOD in the Advanced Search. Just an easy way for analysts to have a list handy

Can we change the page title to "Common BSOD related drivers"?

It looks great Geoff! Is everyone OK with this going live? If so, could you do it Geoff?

I just changed both Carrona & Sysnative as requested. Refresh page & you should see "Common..."

It does look great.

As far as going "LIVE" - not sure what you mean exactly. The pages are up and available to the public now.

Carrona: Driver Reference Table - Common BSOD Related Drivers

Sysnative: Driver Reference Table - Common BSOD Related Drivers

That's what I meant by "live" Thanks John!
I'll start putting the link into my posts - will post a link to both in the BSOD forum.....
