[SOLVED] wuauserv Causing High CPU use?

Recently (some time within last 10 days) my Win7 Pro machine is using 25% more CPU and running 10C hotter. Running computer overnight did not solve/eliminate the problem. Disabling wuauserv returns CPU use and temp to "normal".

SFCFix.exe was run and the on-screen exit log file (very short) is below.

I followed the procedure given in the link you provided and installed KB3172605, which took quite a while. After a reboot a manual check of Windows update found 8 new updates very quickly.

All seems to be back to normal. Thanks again for your help!
