I am having essentially the same behavior that was reported in this post: [SOLVED] - Cannot install Websocket protocol

I have tried installing both through the GUI as well as through a powershell prompt. In both cases I get the referenced assembly error: The referenced assembly could not be found. Error: 0x80073701

I was unsure if the fix offered there applied in all situations or not. I found another suggested fix that involved looking in the CBS log for the missing file, but the file that it lists is no longer available on the Microsoft catalog.

I've tried the sfc scan, the dism checks, everything I can short of reinstalling (I think). So any suggestions would be helpful. I can provide further information if it is needed.

Hi @Clizby,

Welcome to Sysnative Forums!

If you haven't already, please review the posting instructions here, and attach the requested log files. Without log files, our helpers will not be able to assist, and this will slow down fixing your machine.

If logs have been already been provided, our team of volunteers will analyse the provided log files to build a fix for your system. Please be aware that this may take several days from your initial post, due to the high volume of threads that we receive.

Here is the fixlog.txt file. It does indeed look like the install of the component went through successfully. Thank you so much!
