Windows will not update - error 80070490

Hi

I am new to the forum and have a problem with Windows update that I cannot fix. I am running 64 bit Windows 7. Everytime I try to install KB3045999-x64 it returns the error 80070490. I have downloaded the individual patch and tried to install but I get the same error. I have run sfcfix and it returned no error. I have also run a diskcheck, sfc, fixWU and the windows system update readiness tool but I am still unable to use Windows update. I have no idea what else to do. The problem started when my windows crashed about a week ago - prior to that I had no issues with windows updates. The CBS logs were uploaded using SFCfix and the SFCfixscript.

Same problem here.

Win7 X64 -> Trying too install KB3045999 -> Error Code 80070490

What I tried so far in this order:

1. "sfc /scannow" not turning out any error to repair.
2. "chkdsk /r" not turning out any inconsistency.
3. Run the Microst SystemUpdate Readiness Tool.

I dont have any solution yet.

Here's regarding windows-log-entry (Installation): -

sry for german ;-) it says: Could not be installed because of failure "element not found".

So if anyone finds a solutioon to fix or workaroound this. Please let the world know here. Thanks in advance.

Please do the following.

Step#1 - SFCFix Script
Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.

1. Download SFCFix.exe (by niemiro) and save this to your Desktop. If you still have this on your desktop from downloading previously, you don't need to re-download.
2. Download the file below, SFCScript.txt, and save this to your Desktop.
3. Save any open documents and close all open windows.
4. On your Desktop, you should see two files: SFCFix.exe and SFCScript.txt.
5. Drag the file SFCScript.txt onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it.
6. SFCFix will now process the script.
7. Upon completion, a file should be created on your Desktop: SFCFix.txt.
8. Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of this file into your next post for me to analyse please
