Note - This post is for information only - written with a view that it may be of some use / help to the reader now that Vista has no MS support.
These days (late 2019 and onwards), Vista users have a hard time running the PC -- and are not able to find what is nagging or wrong. The device manager looks good, drivers are all up to date, no virus no malware ...everything looks honky dory but PC shows problems in start up, or while loading online games, hangs, at times BSOD, all components and hardware are okay, SATA cables are ok.... Where then is the fault?
Look no further -- the machine is outdated, not supported and may be it has got bugs -- is the obvious guess and solution is to go for newer windows version.
But something always tells the user that it has something to do with Graphics driver. But the user has already updated the Graphics driver that MS offers. Is it so ..... ?? Check .. look around... a latest Graphic Driver may be available, say .... by the name of - Games Ready Driver- well try manually installing it (updating Graphics Driver) .... No?? ... unable to install?-- Need an upgraded Graphic Card!!! Go.... and get one !! 2GB DDR3 compatible with Vista and HDMI output, etc at a reasonable price ... mount it ... then install the latest Games Ready Driver (Graphics) and see what issues it has solved--
1- Now you can play the games you couldn't -- say Unity Player / WebGL 3D games , etc.
2- Now you can connect to websites which you earlier could not and the ghost that net is under surveillance is busted/gone.
3- Now computer starts with no hangs or BSOD or any Stop error.
4- And if you have selected a proper Chipset driver then the Hard disk also runs without any issues.
5- Run the Performance Index check - Before and After -- and see the difference

Look no further ... OS is OK and now hardware is okay ... and computer is at its best!
These are simple things that can be done on an unsupported system if users take the time.
This brings us to the conclusion that -- Vista is a "TIME TESTED" OS. Don't give up!
