Thanks so much for the fast response zcomputerwiz!
After applying the packs and following the steps it appears that the corrupt file was fixed! So far winupdate ran and updated some .net files and now am in process of running the sp2 patch. Looking good based on the CheckSUR log.

I was dreading having to reinstall windows and held out for the longest time until i ran into a block that needed sp2. This is an amazing site that is provides way more useful support and knowledge than the MS site!! MS should be funding your works!

Thanks again.

Happy to report that SP2 finally completed installing!
Unbelievable that it took over 3 hours to install.

Thanks again for the welcome and the help!
You guys have a new fan.

Glad to hear that worked :)

I'll mark the thread solved. If you encounter any problems, please post back and I'll continue to assist you.

Where do you guys get all these files from? Are they available through the microsoft site? Wondering why i couldn't find any of these files through their site to begin with.

Most of the time we get them from Windows Update packages. These files in particular were from "WindowsUpdateAgent30-x86.exe"
