Windows Updates Server 2016 doesn 't work

Hi everybody,

i have a problem with my SRV16 i couldnt do the Windows Updates.
So i tried the sfc /scannow

and also the DISM:

Dism /online /Cleanup-image /scanhealth
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /Source:F: /LimitAccess
Dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth /source:WIM:F:\sources\install.wim:1 /limitaccess
Dism.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup

And also this script

net stop wuauserv

cd %systemroot%\SoftwareDistribution

ren Download Download.old

net start wuauserv

net stop bits

net start bits

net stop cryptsvc

cd %systemroot%\system32

ren catroot2 catroot2old

net start cryptsvc

I have no more idea what to do could somebody please help me ?

I will also need to see your Components Hive:

Retrieve Components Hive
1. Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\Config and locate the COMPONENTS file.
2. Please copy this file to your desktop.
Note: If you receive an error that this file is in-use, simply reboot your computer and try again.
3. Right-click on this file on your desktop and select Send To...Compressed (zipped) folder. This will create a file named COMPONENTS.ZIP on your desktop.
4. The file will likely be too large to upload here so please upload to a file sharing service. Examples of services to upload to are Dropbox or OneDrive or SendSpace and then just provide the link in your reply.

I will you the file today i can restart the Server at the afternoon cause can't copy the Componets file.

Thanks for this. I now have a fix for you to correct a number of files which were found to have incorrect file hashes.

Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.

Download SFCFix.exe (by niemiro) and save this to your Desktop.
Download the file below, SFCFix.zip, and save this to your Desktop. Ensure that this file is named SFCFix.zip - do not rename it.
Save any open documents and close all open windows.
On your Desktop, you should see two files: SFCFix.exe and SFCFix.zip.
Drag the file SFCFix.zip onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it.
SFCFix will now process the script.
Upon completion, a file should be created on your Desktop: SFCFix.txt.
Attach this file into your next post for me to check.

I try to do after that the sfc /scannow and it works, also the Windows Updates working.

Hi again,

at the reboot i got the message: Updates can't be installed.
And there is a never ending process.
So i can't start the server

Hello,

Is the server unable to boot? Can you get into safe mode so that you can send me the CBS.log? Also I would suggest you try and run DISM /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth from the command prompt (if you can boot to the command prompt).

Hi,

yes i always geht these message:

The updates could not be set up.
Changes are undone.
Do not turn off the computer.

After that the Server reboots and the same act starts.
I try to boot in Safe mode now if it works i send you the cbs.log

That's good! Are you using safe mode with networking? See if you can run the DISM command.

There was very little information in that log, the interesting part must be in the persist logs. After DISM please can you copy the whole CBS Folder to the desktop and then zip it and share it with me via OneDrive or DropBox.
