Solved
Today at
7h in the morning i left Windows update working along with SURP with "searching for updates on this computer" message.
When i got home at 13.30h it both were still hanging doing noting. SURP still had that "searching for updates on this computer" message and thank god before i went to sleep :sleep2:
i didn´t cancel SURP.
When i woke up at 16h i found that SURP had a message for me with 1 update ready for me. By looking at the log i found that SURP got past "looking for updates on this computer" in
15h meaning it f****** lasted for
8 hours total !
I clicked "Yes" but the install failed in like 1 second.
Weirdly enough my windows shutdown button was now displaying the yellow exclamation mark updates ready for install so i did that. The next message was a
shutdown screen displaying "installing 33 out of 72"
I dont know when it installed the first 33 ...? When it rebooted it did the usual 1-100% .... That whole thing lastd until
17h
Then the comp rebooted i saw for the first time in a long time
Updates available icon in my taskbar but when i went to Windows update i only found the same old "Windows is up to date" message :thumbsdown2:
I like 5 minutes that changed to "Windows 10 is ready for install"
:shame2: I unchecked that update and hidden it and now my Windows update was showing 19 updates ready for install.
I clicked yes and spent another hour looking at the "creating a restore point" message so it was now
18h. When that was done the install went quickly from there .. reboot .. Windows found 1 more update ..ok reboot.. and around
18.30h i was done.
I have a green check mark displaying todays date in WinUpdate now and all seems to be fine.
p.s.
10 hours total.
