Hello, and welcome to Sysnative!

There's loads and loads going on here, and it's hard for me to see where to start (it's not yet obvious which are the root causes, and which will resolve themselves when I hit the root causes). Further logfiles will help with that.

Hello again :)

Where did you get this copy of Windows from? Did it come from a large OEM (such as Dell or HP), a small PC repair shop, or something you got off the shelf yourself?

Thank you.

Richard

Hi Richard

Actually the licensed windows that came with my system is corrupted and when I try to get backup CD from HP, they asked me to provide the Invoice no which I lost already. So presently I am using this copy that get it from my friend.

Is this an issue with Genuine. However I have successfully used Windows Update on this, until a month back.

Thanks

Hi vivek,

Unfortunately you don't currently have a genuine license on your computer and this will cause Windows Update to stop working. I see this computer shipped with Windows 7 preinstalled on it, what does the sticker say on the side of the case? Don't tell me the product key, I would just like to know what flavour of Windows it is (Home Premium, Professional etc.). The key you are currently using is the default key and is completely useless - it will never validate.

Also, where did you get your copy of Office from? It's counterfeit.

Hi Tom

It is Windows 7 Home Prem OA. Is it a way that I can I get genuine windows 7 with serial no on the sticker. I facing a lot of issues as windows update is not working. please help.

Thanks,
Vivek

Hi Vivek,

As you currently have Ultimate installed and your product key is valid for Home Premium the only way you can resolve this issue is if you reinstall Windows Home Premium then use the key on your sticker to activate your computer (you will have to do phone activation), or purchase a Windows 7 Ultimate license and input that into your current installation. The first option costs you nothing but time so I suspect that's the one you'll pick!
