Windows Updates have been failing on my system since about June, and I've had enough. I've tried a number of solutions, including sfc, dism, manually deleting the SoftwareDistribution and Catroot2 folders, verifying all drivers are current, reviewing logs in Event Viewer (highly unhelpful), and finally using the Media Creation tool to upgrade Windows to the latest Feature Update. All have failed. The current pending updates are KB5005033 and KB5004331.
In search of answers to my mysterious Windows Update errors (Error code 0x800f0922), I stumbled across this solved post and knew I had come to the right place. Here are my results of the troubleshooting steps recorded in the instructions post.
2. Results of sfc /scannow. No change to Windows Update behavior.
Beginning verification phase of system scan.
Verification 100% complete.
Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.
3. Results of dism. No change to Windows Update behavior.
The restore operation completed successfully.
The operation completed successfully.
4. Results of SFCFix. Does not complete. It runs DISM restore health operation, and then does not advance further. No log file is created. I let it sit for over 1 hour.
5. CBS compressed folder was too large to attach. Here is a link to download it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
