Windows Update Error Code c0000374

While i am using my laptop i keep getting the error code c0000374 and i have windows 8 i have read one of your other threads and it said click on command prompt(admin) i have done this and entered the code sfc/scan now and im wondering what i need to do after this as it says the steps after this are different for each situation and i dont want to damage my laptop. I am trying to install windows 10 but it just refuses to work. Any help would be very much appreciated thanks.
