Hello! :wave:

My name is Patrick. I have been struggling :banghead: to fix the dreadful windows update problem with the error code 80073712. After all of my digging I ran across this website:dance:. Can you please help me get my update corruption problems solved?

Problem : Windows Update error code : 80073712

Brief : Windows updates are never successful due to numerous 0x800f0805 - CBS_E_INVALID_PACKAGE in the CBS.Log.

I have downloaded and run the SFCFix.exe application and have put the output and my components registry at the dropbox location below.

Looks like we're going to need a CheckSUR.log. Follow the instructions below.

System Update Readiness Tool (SURT) - Scan
Follow the instructions below to run a scan with the System Update Readiness Tool (SURT) and provide a log;
  • Download the right version of SURT for your system;
    • Your version of Windows is: Windows 7 x64
  • Once downloaded, execute the installer, and go throught the installation (this process can take around 15-20 minutes);
  • On completion, a log will be created in C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log;
  • Attach this log in your next reply;

Sorry for the delay, I'm having issues with the tool we use to create fixes from logs.
 
Do you have your Windows installation media?
 
It would be faster in your case to do a Repair Install rather than wait for me to have the tool function properly so I can fix your files. Plus, there's so much corruption that I think a Repair Install would be a better option in your situation.
