windows sounds work but game sound does not

I had bought and installed a new steam game the other night and then promptly removed it when i realized it wasn't all it was cracked up to be. After it was removed i noticed my computer ran slow for a bit so I restarted it. Once it came back up I went to play Fallout 4 and realized I had no sound. Exited the game and checked that windows sounds worked fine and I can hear things on a browser like you tube but not in anything else. When I test my speakers through windows they seem to work but when I test them through Sound Blasters Trustudio they dont work. I have literally checked everything and all drivers are installed right. I even turned off nearly all background things on the computer. Im completely stumped. Any help would be appreciated.

Run Windows System Restore - choose a restore point prior to the installation of the game.
