Hi, guys, I'm not very tech-savvy but I've been trying to update the windows service pack and done research the whole day. The readiness tool couldn't update too. Long story short i run the sfc/scannow and this is the result I found on the log.

Hello and welcome!

Please run System Update Readiness Tool again and leave it running. It can take hours if the system is very corrupt.

Attach the resulting CheckSUR.log. C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log.

I ran a SURT and it didn't bring up a new log. The logs available were for yesterday, so I ran it again and a message was displayed ' windows resource protection did not find integrity violations'

SURT is the System Update Readiness Tool. When it's run, it does create a new log each time, please ensure that you have run the correct tool. The log file you are looking for is CheckSUR.log.

I tried updating both the usual way and the manual way, but it still failed.
I've tried attaching the file but it says it too large. it's too long to copy paste too, so I hope it's okay if i compressed it.

it failed. I think it might be the windows isn't genuine message that's causing it not to update. I've fixed it a couple of times but after a few, months reverts to not genuine still. I've avoided using loaders because it seems dangerous.

Yes, it is. My uncle works for an IT company and did some maintenance on it a few years ago when I formatted it. I highly doubt he used an illegal copy.

Please do the following:

Step#1 - FRST Scan

1. Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop.
Note: You need to run the 32-bit Version so please ensure you download that one.
2. Right-click FRST.exe and click Run as Administrator to run it as administrator. When the tool opens, click Yes to disclaimer.
3. Please ensure you place a check mark in the Addition.txt check box at the bottom of the form before running (if not already checked).
4. Press Scan button.
5. It will produce a log called FRST.txt in the same directory the tool is run from (which should now be the desktop)
6. Please attach the log back here.
7. Another log (Addition.txt - also located in the same directory as FRST64.exe) will be generated Please also attach that along with the FRST.txt in your reply.
